Bedtime stories are like a soft landing spot for your mind. Rather than letting your brain race through the same thoughts youβve been chasing all day, we are taking a detour to a calm and comfy place. We tell the story twice and go a bit slower the second time. Each week, we support a meaningful non-profit organization. Explore the causes we've contributed to in past episodes.

The Village Races
Our story tonight is called The Village Races. Itβs about a group of runners setting out on a bright, sunny morning. Itβs also about butterflies and bagels, lucky numbers and picnic blankets, and the joy of being a part of something youβre proud of.
At The Summer Fair (Encore)
A story about a yearly tradition and how it changes in the different summers of your life. Itβs also about plums taken from the icebox, a handmade cup wrapped in paper, and strolling along the river as the streetlights blink on above you.
When the Streetlights Come On
A trip to the mailbox during the last lit moments of the day. Itβs also about bikes being wheeled into the garage for the night, things learned from the farmerβs almanac, layers of paint peeling away under your hand, and a tender way to be shepherded home and sent to dreamland.
A Letter In An Envelope (Encore)
A story about the everyday magic of messages sent between friends. Itβs also about peanut butter spread on toast, a favorite spot on the back porch, and a lifelong habit of saving stories.
Summer Afternoons
A story about the possibilities of a special part of the day. Itβs also about an empty ginger ale bottle filled with windflowers, a walk by the railroad tracks, date bars, and park benches, and elevating the everyday.
The Hardware Store (Encore)
Our story this week is called βThe Hardware Store,β and it's about finding all the right things for a few projects at home. Itβs also about stacks of fresh-sawn wood, a packet of peanut butter cups, and the ride home with the window down.
Paddling on the Canal
A quiet morning on the lake, dragonflies and water lilies, weeping willows along the shore, a bell ringing from the inn's back porch, and a connection point felt by people around the world.
Coffee On The Stoop (Encore)
Our story tonight is called βCoffee on the Stoop,β and itβs a story about a day devoted to small acts of kindness. Itβs also about a kitty sleeping in a window, paints, brushes, and flower seeds, and the awe we feel when a stranger reaches out to do us a good turn.
Summer at the Library, Part 2
A continuation of last weekβs story, but you donβt really need to hear part one, to enjoy part two. Itβs a story about a special summer program that brings littles and furry friends together at a favorite place. Itβs also about red popsicles, sounding out big words, beach towels spread on the patio stones, books spread out on tables, and enjoying the feeling of having something to look forward to.
From the Hammock (Encore)
Our story tonight is called βFrom the Hammock,β and itβs a story about naps, and where and when, and under what circumstances we take them. Itβs also about a slow walk through the garden, jars of pickles put up in the cellar, and knowing that what you seek is seeking you.
Summer at the Library, Part 1
Our story tonight is called Summer at the Library. Itβs about special programming for some of the younger and four-legged residents of the Village. Itβs also about the view from the circulation desk, water bowls set out on the shady patio, study rooms, walking trails, and learning to feel happiness from moment to moment.
The Lake at the Inn (Encore)
Tonight, our story is called βThe Lake at the Inn,β and itβs about a misty summer morning on the water. Itβs also about a mug of coffee poured by a friend, the sounds you hear when you truly stop to listen, and a row boat just waiting to be pushed out away from shore.
Ladybugs and New Leaves
Our story tonight is called Ladybugs and New Leaves. Itβs about a day in the yard at the potting bench. Itβs also about learning to read the leaves of plants to understand what they need, things found in the hardware store checkout line, shiny red wings and black dots, and recognizing that we all need a fresh start from time to time.
Dandelions & Mayapples (Encore)
Our story tonight is called Dandelions and Mayapples, and itβs a story about a trip down to the creek on a spring afternoon. Itβs also about a bench on the bank where the sound of the water echoes, rhododendrons, and stone steps, and giving yourself the grace to ebb and flow.
Date Night
Our story tonight is called Date Night. It is about a bike ride to a place where X marks the spot on a hand-drawn map. Itβs also about lavender lemonade, minnows in the shallows, wagging tales, and toast made while the dogs wind a leash around your ankle.
Opening Up The Cottage (Encore)
Our story tonight is called βOpening the Cottage,β and itβs a story about the first day back in a well-loved, familiar place. Itβs also about the little traditions that make up the history of a family, a sandwich eaten on the end of a dock, and the soft, happy feeling of summer arriving.
Tell The Bees
A comforting story intended to soothe heavy or grieving hearts, following a journey through a clover-filled path toward good listeners. It involves a new home for a rosebush, four-leaf clovers, a house with shutters and gopher trails, and the cathartic act of speaking up when ready.
Petrichor (Encore)
Our story tonight is called "Petrichor." Itβs about things getting greener as the spring rain falls. Itβs also about a record player with a favorite album on the turntable, deer dozing in the grass, and making a habit of enjoying yourself.
A Month of Sundays
Our story tonight is called A Month of Sundays, and itβs a story about finding a way to make time for rest and enjoyment. Itβs also about a tin box of recipe cards, a neatly made bed with the corner folded down, aunts and idioms, porch swings and school buses, and the delight of one of the best days of the week.
A Dance In The Park (Encore)
Our story tonight is called "A Dance in the Park." Itβs about coming back into the world after a bit of time spent alone. Itβs also about a glass of pink hibiscus tea, window shopping on a downtown street, and moving to the music on a sunny day.
